Revelation 13
1 And I
ℵA ⟨he⟩
stood upon the sand of the sea, and sawℵA ⟨I saw⟩
a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten hornsℵA ⟨ten horns and seven heads⟩
, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the nameA ⟨names⟩
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion
ℵ ⟨lions⟩
: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.2 Et bestia, quam vidi, similis erat pardo, et pedes ejus sicut pedes ursi, et os ejus sicut os leonis. Et dedit illi draco virtutem suam, et potestatem magnam.
3 And I saw
ℵA ⟨I saw⟩
one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the worldℵA ⟨earth⟩
wondered after the beast.3 Et vidi unum de capitibus suis quasi occisum in mortem: et plaga mortis ejus curata est. Et admirata est universa terra post bestiam.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave
ℵA ⟨because he gave the⟩
power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? whoℵA ⟨and who⟩
isℵ ⟨is⟩
able to make war with him?4 Et adoraverunt draconem, qui dedit potestatem bestiæ: et adoraverunt bestiam, dicentes: Quis similis bestiæ? et quis poterit pugnare cum ea?
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies
A ⟨blasphemous⟩
; and power was given unto him to continueℵ ⟨it was given unto him to do what he will⟩
forty and two months.5 Et datum est ei os loquens magna et blasphemias: et data est ei potestas facere menses quadraginta duos.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy
ℵA ⟨blasphemies⟩
against God, to blaspheme his nameℵ ⟨him⟩
, and his tabernacle, andℵA omit
them that dwell in heaven.6 Et aperuit os suum in blasphemias ad Deum, blasphemare nomen ejus, et tabernaculum ejus, et eos qui in cælo habitant.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them:

and power was given him over all kindredsℵA ⟨kindreds, and peoples⟩
, and tongues, and nations.7 Et est datum illi bellum facere cum sanctis, et vincere eos.
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are

not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.8 et adoraverunt eam omnes, qui inhabitant terram: quorum non sunt scripta nomina in libro vitæ Agni, qui occisus est ab origine mundi.
9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
9 Si quis habet aurem, audiat.
10 He that leadeth into

captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.10 Qui in captivitatem duxerit, in captivitatem vadet: qui in gladio occiderit, oportet eum gladio occidi. Hic est patientia, et fides sanctorum.
11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly

wound was healed.12 Et potestatem prioris bestiæ omnem faciebat in conspectu ejus: et fecit terram, et habitantes in ea, adorare bestiam primam, cujus curata est plaga mortis.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make
ℵ ⟨also make⟩
an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.14 Et seduxit habitantes in terra propter signa, quæ data sunt illi facere in conspectu bestiæ, dicens habitantibus in terra, ut faciant imaginem bestiæ, quæ habet plagam gladii, et vixit.
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor
ℵ ⟨poor and rich⟩
, free and bond, to receiveℵ ⟨give him⟩; A ⟨give them⟩
a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheadsℵA ⟨forehead⟩
17 And
ℵ omit
that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beastℵ ⟨mark of the beast or his name⟩; A ⟨mark, the name of the beast⟩
, or the number of his name.17 et ne quis possit emere, aut vendere, nisi qui habet caracterem, aut nomen bestiæ, aut numerum nominis ejus.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding
ℵ ⟨an ear⟩
count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number isℵ ⟨man,⟩
Six hundred threescore and six.18 Hic sapientia est.
